Orvis Ultralight Convertible Waders (Due Jan 2018)

Orvis Ultralight Waders are part of a system that includes Ultralight Wading Boots and the Ultralight Wading Jacket. Not only are they more comfortable than heavier gear, they are also built for durability. We can achieve this by utilizing the latest in lightweight, durable fabrics and construction techniques. They also save both weight and space when traveling by airs, from commercial airlines to helicopters in New Zealand.

Specifications:

• Lightweight, abrasion- and puncture-resistant fabric
• Low-profile lock-stitch construction with an added layer of special seam reinforcement tape on the inside of the seam
• 75lb seam strength, more than twice the industry average (34lb)
• Continuous self-fabric gravel guards eliminate seam, making them slimmer and allowing easier drainage
• New patterning gives more comfortable fit and moves seams out of high-stress areas so the wader design is more durable
• Neoprene feet are more anatomical, so they slide into wading boots easier and are less likely to bunch up under the foot
• Neoprene feet 4mm construction all around foot
• New FIDLOCK SNAP magnetic fasteners mean waders can be instantly lowered with one-hand operation and easily convert back into chest waders when you reach deep water

These boots are lighter than other types because they are slightly lower in profile, but also because of the materials we’ve chosen. The inspiration for these boots came from hiking boot design, so they are lightweight, durable, and comfortable.

• New extra-dense laces will last longer
• Added foam protection in tongue and ankle for comfort and support
• Mini ripstop panels save weight
• Clarino microfiber has a higher strength-to-weight ratio than traditional leather and dries quickly
• Custom Vibram® EVA midsole for all-day comfort and stability
• Spray rubber added to toe for additional abrasion resistance
• Dual durometer sole with hard rubber on the outside for durability and soft rubber under the foot for security
